Self Defence

Cacti are robust and are among the most fascinating plants to grow. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes and textures. Their prickly thick skin acts as a defence mechanism against the sun, and what really distinguishes them from all the other plants is that they have an aerole - a cushion-like growth that is the growing point for spines, offsets and flowers.

All cacti need a porous potting mixture whether they are desert or jungle cacti.
